Norway’s employer contribution is not the harshest in the Nordics, but the salaries are the highest, and the scarcity is what actually hurts: the engineer who can do this work has options.

We build inside environments you control, so this is your choice rather than ours. The default is the EU. If your data has to stay in Norway — because of sector rules, a customer contract, or simply a board that would rather it did — we deploy to Norwegian infrastructure instead. Either way you own the environment, the credentials and the data from day one, and none of it is used to train anyone’s models.

HelmUnit starts at NOK 48,000 per month for a quarter of a senior AI and automation engineer — roughly five days of capacity a month. A half engineer is NOK 90,000 and a full engineer NOK 168,000 per month. Once the building is done and the work is mostly monitoring, the engagement scales down to NOK 24,000 a month. Every tier is month-to-month and cancellable, and prices are quoted and invoiced in kroner rather than converted from euros at the time of billing.
In year one, comfortably — an in-house senior AI engineer in Oslo costs around NOK 1.4 million once 14.1% arbeidsgiveravgift, occupational pension and a recruiter fee are added to a base salary near NOK 1.1 million, and 4–9 months of that year passes before they start. From year two a full-time hire doing continuous full-time work is cheaper than our full-engineer tier, and we say so. Most companies of 150 to 1,500 people do not need a full-time AI engineer; they need a quarter of one and the ability to stop.

We do travel to Norway, and prefer to early on, because watching how the work actually happens surfaces things no video call will. On-site days are quoted separately by duration. English is the working language; we do not require Norwegian.
